AMIS announces that Sabine Katharina Klaus is the winner of the Curt Sachs Award for 2026.

The 2026 Bessaraboff Prize is awarded to JoE Silva, for The Minimoog Book: The Synthesizer that Changed Music Forever; Sounds, Stories, and Technology (Denmark: Bjooks Publishing, 2024).

The Densmore Prize Committee is pleased to award the 2026 prize for the most distinguished article-length publication in English that furthers the goals of the Society to Mark Katz, for his article “The Great War, the Little String, and the Transformation of Modern Violin Playing,” published in the Journal of the American Musicological Society (vol. 77, no. 1, 2024, pp. 65–102).

Tsz-ching Tung (University of Hong Kong) has received the 2025 Fredrick R. Selch Award for her paper "In Reconstructing the 'Left-Hammered' Technique: A Historical Analysis of Early Cantonese Dulcimer Performance Practice," read at the 2025 Annual Meeting of the American Musical Instrument Society, Georgia Southern University, Savannah, GA, June 7, 2025.
